Telangana Earns ₹982 Crore in 4 Days

Hyderabad: The last four days of 2024 proved to be highly lucrative for the Telangana government, generating an impressive ₹982 crore in revenue, largely driven by record liquor sales and new year event permits.

Record Liquor Sales Boost Revenue

On December 31, a staggering ₹282 crore worth of liquor was lifted from depots, contributing significantly to the total liquor sales of ₹926 crore between December 29 and 31. The festive celebrations saw heightened demand, with Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts leading the sales surge.

Event Permits Add to State Earnings

The excise department issued 287 permits for alcohol-related events, of which 243 were in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts, while 44 permits were granted in other areas. These permissions brought in ₹56.48 lakh, with permits on December 31 alone earning ₹44.76 lakh.

  • Key Highlights of Event Permits:
    • One permit earned ₹2.5 lakh.
    • Three permits fetched ₹1 lakh each.
    • Seven permits generated ₹50,000 each.

December Revenue Sees Decline Compared to 2023
